BBPOS, a global company credited with inventing mobile point-of-sale (mPOS), is set to unveil its new WisePOS, an Android smartphone cum mPOS device in just a few weeks. WisePOS combines smartphone and mPOS features to provide flexibility for merchants to use the Android platform to develop custom applications and services.
The latest WisePOS is an all-in-one device, including full Android smartphone functionality; there is no need for installation, and no need for an additional plug-in device to conduct mPOS transactions. The device also comes with multiple connectivity options, including WiFi, Bluetooth and GPRS.

AT&T will begin offering the LG G Pad X 10.1 tablet with the new DirecTV app already installed online on September 4 and in retail stores nationwide on Sept. 11. The tablet will be available either on an installment payment plan or through outright purchase, and can be added to a new or existing Mobile Share Value Plan.

This app supports iOS and Android and, in the near future, Windows and OSX. My Wocket enables remote software updates to NXT-ID's Wocket and Wocket Card devices.

Fonesalesman, a provider of wireless charging solutions, has announced an all-new range of products designed to combine furniture and wireless power.
The first product to be released in the FurniQi range will be a bamboo side table that features Qi technology, an interface standard for wireless charging developed by the Wireless Power Consortium. It is supported by several phone manufacturers including Samsung, LG, Sony, and Microsoft, among others.

Verifone and Aava Mobile announced the first handheld mobile point of sale (mPOS) solution powered by Intel to deliver an EMV-ready mPOS solution for enterprise retailers. The solution is based on Verifone’s device and operating system (OS)-agnostic mPOS terminal integrated with Aava Mobile’s handheld tablet PC, which is powered by the Intel Atom processor.

Altair Semiconductor, a provider of LTE chipsets, will co-host a demonstration with Ericsson to illustrate LTE's Release 12 Power Save Mode (PSM) attributes of Altair's FourGee-1160 Cat-1/0 chipset within an Ericsson-populated infrastructure. The demo will take place at Ericsson's Booth #4322 during next week's Super Mobility Week event in the Sands Expo in Las Vegas, Nev.
PSM, as specified by 3GPP Release 12, enables terminals to enter a deep-sleep mode for long periods of time after notifying the base station. This reduces significantly the amount of power associated with frequent communication requests normally sent by the base station.

Pacific Control Systems (PCS), a United Arab Emirates-based provider of Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud Services solutions, has completed the acquisition of 33.33 percent equity stake in Inframon Limited, a UK-based IT cloud transformation company. The deal will position PCS as a global leader in cloud services.
