World Wide Packets closed a $25.5 million found of financing led by two new investors. The company plans to use the funds to expand its international presence.

The company's Carrier Ethernet solution is designed to enable the delivery of IPTV, VoIP, wireless transport and mission critical data, according to the company.

First-time World Wide Packet investors Eagle River Holdings and Rally Capital led the round.

In October, World Wide Packets inked a deal with Sprint Nextel's Sprint North Supply to deliver its Active Ethernet access solution. Sprint North Supply selected the solution to enable the delivery of Ethernet access equipment to its customer base.
