Clearwire is planning a massive launch of its 4G service in 10 of its pre-WiMAX markets.
In a city that’s built itself on risky bets and high stakes, Clearwire will fit right in. Today, Clearwire officially launched its mobile WiMAX service in Las Vegas. The company’s fourth launch in 2009 will cover 1.7 million residents across 638 square miles in the wide, flat Las Vegas basin.
The $6.8 billion slated for wireless communication upgrades and deployments in the next two years will benefit vendors and increase wireless technologies’
Sprint is committed to WiMAX. It boasts a 2-year headstart over LTE’s implementation by AT&T, Verizon Wireless and other 3G operators.
