Dish Jumps in With Unsolicited, $3.30 Per Share Offer for Clearwire

Dish Network has offered to buy up to all of Clearwire’s common stock at $3.30 in a proposed deal that would allow Dish to purchase some spectrum assets from Clearwire. Under the conditions of the preliminary offer, Dish would acquire approximately 11.4 billion MHz-POPs from Clearwire, or 24 percent of its total spectrum holdings, for $2.2 billion.

T-Mobile Expects 3-5 Percent Growth, Sees 100K iPhones Per Month

T-Mobile USA CEO John Legere said to expect a 3 to 5 percent growth in revenue over five years following the company's proposed merger with MetroPCS. T-Mobile USA Chief Technology Officer Neville Ray added that the company was seeing 100,000 unlocked iPhones ported over per month from AT&T to T-Mobile's network.

HTC posted a Q4 net profit of $34 million, down 91 percent from the $379 million it put up for the same quarter in 2011. According to Reuters, 18 analysts' average predicted a net profit of more than $50 million for the quarter. Lego is set to announce Monday that a new, $350 Mindstorms EV3 kit will have the ability to talk to iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches through Bluetooth wireless connections. Report: Apple Edges LG in OEM Market Share

Fully 18.5 percent of U.S. mobile subscribers used Apple devices, according  to ComScore's new three-month study, which covers the period from August through November 2012. Apple barely edged out LG, which took 17.5 percent in the same study. Motorola and HTC both saw small share declines, dipping to 10.4 and 5.9 percent, respectively.

A report surfaced today that Apple is testing iOS 7, as well as the iPhone 6. I'm amazed that this made headlines. I'm guessing investors would be jumping ship faster than they already are if Apple wasn't in the process of testing the next iterations of its products.
