Survey: Just 9% of Lawmakers Use Android Phones

Of the 102 lawmakers’ offices that responded, just nine percent said they use Android phones. That compares with 71 percent using iPhones and 28 percent who choose BlackBerry. Many of the respondents said they use multiple phones and in several cases indicated they have a flip phone in addition to their smartphone.

Revenue for the second quarter of fiscal 2015 was $916 million, which broken out included approximately 46 percent for hardware, 46 percent for services and 8 percent for software and other revenue. Analyst consensus was more in line with $940 million in revenue for the quarter. 

BlackBerry Deals German Assets to Volkswagen

The move comes as the Ontario-based company looks to become profitable by its 2016 financial year. BlackBerry has centralized most of its vehicle connectivity development at its QNX Software Systems division in Ottawa, Ontario. Volkswagen will assume BlackBerry's offices leases at the Bochum University Center and the Design Support Lab.

2014 Connected Device Production to Hit 6 Billion

More and more devices in production will include internet connectivity, according to a new report from IHS iSuppli. The research firm forecasts the connected device market to surpass 6 billion in 2014. IHS estimates worldwide production of connected equipment will amount to 6.18 billion units this year, up 6 percent from 5.82 billion in 2013.
