Amazon today is letting people request an invite to a device launch event June 18 in Seattle. From the looks of the teaser video on the page, the company could be taking the wraps off its rumored 3D smartphone.

The video doesn’t show any device. It only features a number of people who can’t believe their eyes as they look down at something.

In April, the Wall Street Journal reported Amazon would be unveiling its 3D smartphone in June and selling the device by September.

Amazon promises to let registrants know by June 12 if they’re invited to the event.

June 18 could end up being a busy news day. T-Mobile has its Uncarrier 5.0 event scheduled for the same day.
