ROK Mobile has enlisted Gracenote to help power its new ROK Music streaming service for personalized Internet radio. With Gracenote Rhythm, ROK users are able to create a constant stream of their favorite tunes based on Gracenote's algorithms and music data. Launching on July 4th, ROK Mobile is a new wireless phone service that provides unlimited voice, text and data for $49.99 per month, with no long-term contract. ROK Mobile is offering its exclusive ROK Music streaming service, featuring more than 20 million tracks, at no additional charge.

Open Garden today announced that its newest app, 'FireChat <3', is now capable of cross-platform 'off-the grid' communication. People can chat with those around them, even when no Internet connection or cellular coverage is available, and regardless of whether they use an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Android smartphone or Android tablet.

Mavenir Systems, a provider of software-based network solutions for mobile services, announced the availability of its Evolved Packet Data Gateway (ePDG). For subscribers using Wi-Fi, the ePDG provides a secure connection to the Evolved Packet Core (EPC) network and enables mobility between LTE and Wi-Fi.

PixArt Imaging Inc., a provider of human-machine interface (HMI) solutions, today announces the release of its Heart Rate Monitor sensor for smartphones and wearable device platforms. The PAH 8001 uses photoplethysmogram (PPG) technique which passes a green LED light wave into the skin and measures the response change caused by the absorption due to the pulsating arterial blood.
