IBM Opens BlueMix Garage, Adds to BlueMix Platform
LAS VEGAS - IBM announced the opening of its first BlueMix Garage, a shop in San Francisco that will allow cloud application developers to work with IBM professionals.
The first BlueMix Garage is already taking on projects and IBM expects it to be fully up and running by June. The initial location is inside Galvanize, an entrepreneurial campus that predicts it will house 200 startups by the end of 2014.

To go with its new physical location, BlueMix gained more than 30 new cloud services up around speeding time to market, data and analytics, and mobility. Specific targets for expanded service include cloud integration, Internet of Things, and end-to-end capabilities geared toward DevOps.
BlueMix is an open-standards, cloud-based platform for building, managing and running applications for web, mobile, and big data. IBM’s PaaS handles Java, mobile back end development, application monitoring. In addition to IBM’s cloud portfolio, BlueMix also makes available partner and third-party services.
