MWC Day 2 Briefs: AT&T, IBM, AppDirect, Cellebrite, Webroot, Twilio, MIPI Alliance, SAP AG

AT&T and IBM today announced a new strategic relationship to give businesses a single-source for network security and threat management. The two companies will offer business customers a new joint service combining security network infrastructure with threat monitoring and analytics.

AppDirect announced today that it is partnering with Samsung to launch the Samsung KNOX Marketplace. The new enterprise mobility marketplace will serve as an online portal offering KNOX solutions and other leading business apps, as well as tools for IT managers to provision and administer these products on employee mobile devices. The announcement coincides with Samsung’s unveiling of the new marketplace at the Mobile World Congress today in Barcelona, Spain. With the AppDirect-powered KNOX Marketplace, Samsung will deliver enterprise mobility solutions to a wide array of businesses in a quick and convenient way.

Cellebrite and Webroot today announced a technology partnership. The Webroot Mobile App Reputation Service and URL Classification Service will be integrated with Cellebrite's Diagnostics solution. The combination aims to enable mobile operators and mobile retailers deploying Cellebrite's Diagnostics to proactively identify and remediate security threats and performance problems on their customer's mobile device by leveraging the Webroot threat database, which contains millions of mobile application and website anti-malware signatures.

Twilio, the software and cloud-based communications platform, today expanded availability of SMS-enabled phone numbers to six new countries, including Australia, Austria, Estonia, Hong Kong, Lithuania and Switzerland. Developers and businesses can now leverage Twilio's single, global API to send and receive texts with local phone numbers when connecting with their customers in these regions.

The MIPI Alliance, an international organization that develops interface specifications for mobile and mobile-influenced industries, is driving the adoption of leading-edge technologies including 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) in external devices, 2K and 4K mobile displays, and high performance cameras with enhanced interface specifications.

SAP AG today announced new LTE roaming peering agreements with MTT Russia, Orange and Telenor Global Services.
