First News Briefs: Telefonica, NII Holdings, ShopKeep, Griffin, Thinaire, Ceragon

Telefonica and NII Holdings have signed agreements whereby Telefonica will provide NII's subsidiaries, operating under the Nextel brand in Brazil and Mexico, nationwide voice and data coverage services on Telefonica's 3G wireless networks.

ShopKeep POS, a cloud-based point of sale platform designed by retailers for retailers, today announced ShopKeep Mobile, a handheld point of sale device that will use Griffin Olli hardware with the ShopKeep POS app.

Thinaire Transmedia Network, Inc. today launched a unified omni-channel mobile engagement marketing and sales solution allowing brands to engage consumers via nearly any mobile onramp to bring media, objects and spaces to life on consumers' most personal devices – their smartphones, tablets and connected devices. Thinaire's enterprise-grade Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) solution, Thinaire Spaces, lets the company integrate management of BLE and near field communication (NFC) radio frequency (RF) technologies for consumer-facing brand marketing and commerce on mobile.

Ceragon Networks Ltd. today announced that it has received large orders from two national operators in North America and India. Ceragon will deliver several thousand of its high capacity, SDN-ready IP-20-based solutions to these operators. These advanced systems will be used to build wireless backhaul networks in support of each operator’s plan to rollout nationwide 4G/LTE networks over the next few years.
