Tsinghua Unigroup Ltd., an operating subsidiary of Tsinghua Holdings Co., Ltd., a solely state-owned limited liability corporation funded by Tsinghua University in China, and Spreadtrum Communications, Inc., a fabless semiconductor provider in China, jointly announced the completion of the approximately $1.7 billion merger of Spreadtrum.
Tektronix Communications, a Telecoms Intelligence Provider, announced that it has acquired Newfield Wireless, a privately held provider of next-generation mobile network optimization with geoanalytics intelligence.
WidePoint Corporation, a provider of secured, cloud-based, enterprise-wide solutions and services for telecommunications life-cycle and cyber security management, announced that the Department of Homeland Security has selected WidePoint's wholly owned subsidiary, iSYS LLC (iSYS), as the single awardee for its Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for Cellular Wireless Managed Services. The BPA ceiling is $600 million.
AT&T announced that Joe York has been named President of AT&T Florida. York most recently served as Vice President – Legislative & Regulatory Affairs, AT&T Florida.
