First News Briefs: DataXoom, ARM, Wells Fargo, Isis, Edge-Core

DataXoom Inc., a mobile data services provider focused exclusively on businesses, announced  that it has launched its service with initial customers. DataXoom serves mid- to large-sized enterprise customers. DataXoom has wholesale agreements with three of the four major US mobile network operators, giving its customers access to LTE, EVDO, and HSPA+ networks. DataXoom also announced the appointment of John Tantum as its CEO.  Tantum founded and was president of Virgin Mobile USA.

ARM today acquired Geomerics, a provider of lighting technology for the gaming and entertainment industries. The acquisition expands ARM’s position in the visual computing and graphics industries. Additionally, the agreement enables Geomerics to build on their existing partnerships as well as accelerate their development in mobile.

Wells Fargo & Company and Isis, the mobile commerce joint venture created by AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile USA, Inc. and Verizon Wireless, announced the first phase of an agreement that allows Wells Fargo Visa consumer credit card holders to load their cards into the Isis Mobile Wallet.

Edge-Core Networks Corporation, a provider of solutions that keep information moving and connections strong for businesses, from SMB and Enterprise to Service Providers and Carriers, announces its new product line of Gigabit Ethernet Plus Switches with “Push-to-Smart” technology. Rather than using a web interface, this new product line offers a “Push-to-Smart” button to enable functions at each office front-end site.
