First News Briefs: AT&T, Alcatel-Lucent, Setar, Ceragon, Sierra Wireless

AT&T announced 14 new LTE markets, which brings the total market count to 461. AT&T's LTE network covers nearly 250 million people and is expected to cover nearly 270 million people by the end of 2014.

Alcatel-Lucent has deployed a 4G LTE network for Setar, a telecommunications service provider on the Caribbean island of Aruba.

Ceragon Networks Ltd. announced its new, high capacity platform for HetNet hauling – the IP-20. Designed to meet the needs of network operators, Ceragon’s IP-20 is a service-centric, SDN-ready wireless platform for backhaul and fronthaul. 

Sierra Wireless today announced the appointment of Thomas Sieber to the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Sieber is the current Chairman of the Board of Directors and the former CEO of Orange Switzerland.
