First News Briefs: Broadsoft, CEVA, ZTE, iSend, Wilcon

BroadSoft, Inc. today announced it is extending its BroadCloud PBX service to the U.K. with the acquisition of Hosted IP Communications (Europe) Limited (HIPCOM), a Communications-as-a-Service (CaaS) provider.

CEVA, Inc., a licensor of silicon intellectual property (SIP) platform solutions and DSP cores, today announced that ZTE Corporation has licensed the CEVA-XC DSP to power its next generation of LTE TDD/FDD multi-mode base station System-on-Chips (SoCs).

iSend, a U.S. electronic payment service for people who support family members in other countries, today announced it has signed a direct agreement with Airtel Ghana. The arrangement will enable consumers to visit more than 150,000 retail locations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe to purchase pre-paid mobile airtime for family members and friends who are Airtel Ghana customers.

Wilcon, a west coast provider of fiber optic and data center infrastructure, furthers its expansion by today announcing it has entered into an agreement to acquire Freedom Dark Fiber Networks, a high-capacity dark fiber provider in southern California.
