iTalk Inc. today announced it has launched the iTalk iPod Touch Sleeve bundled with an Unlimited Nationwide Talk plan for $9.99 per month.

TP-LINK, a global provider of networking products, has delivered a series of gigabit Ethernet switches for any business looking to upgrade their LAN.

Shipments of sub-US$250 low-cost smartphones will grow from 259 million in 2013 to 788 million in 2018, according to recent Market Data from market intelligence firm ABI Research. Mid (sub-$400) and high ($400+) cost smartphone shipments are expected to grow from 635 million to 925 million over the same period.

Microchip Technology Inc. today announced an expansion of its embedded-wireless portfolio. The Bluetooth additions include the PIC32 Bluetooth Audio Development Kit, featuring modules, stacks and CODECs, and XBee footprint-compatible socket modules with integrated stacks. The new Wi-Fi offerings comprise IEEE 802.11b/g Wi-Fi modules with Microchip’s free source-code TCP/IP stack running on a PIC microcontroller for greater configurability, as well as XBee footprint-compatible socket modules with integrated stacks. Microchip is also adding a low-power 2.4 GHz radio that supports both the IEEE 802.15.4 and proprietary data rates (from 125 kbps to 2 Mbps), including the ZigBee, MiWi and other proprietary protocols.
