Anritsu has annoucned the Toughest Site Competition 2013 that recognizes the challenges faced every day by field engineers and technicians responsible for deploying, installing, and maintaining wireless networks. The contest, which runs until June 30, 2013, highlights how field professionals overcome harsh weather conditions, extreme environments, and technical challenges to ensure the operation of private and commercial wireless networks.

Qualcomm Incorporated, through its venture capital arm Qualcomm Ventures, today announced the winner of the third annual Qualcomm Ventures QPrize, an international venture investment competition, at an event hosted in Napa. iOnRoad, an Israeli company, took top honors against competition from seven other regional winners representing North America, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Brazil, China, Korea, and India. iOnRoad aims to improve driving in real-time. The app uses the smartphone's native camera and sensors to detect vehicles ahead of their own, alerting drivers when they are in danger. 

Telit Wireless Solutions and Powelectrics Ltd., a developer and manufacturer of customized embedded electronic devices and solutions for chemical, petrochemical (including LPG), cryogenic gas and food applications, today announced collaboration in the wireless telemetry application market with the launch of Powelectrics’ Telit-based product “Metron2”. The Metron2 is a multi-function cellular-connected telemetry device capable of making remote fill-level readings in tanks containing liquids and gases.  The device’s integral display allows the unit to be used also as a local gauge and for system setup and testing. An optional pulse-counter board allows the device to take external meter readings. 

ZTE Telecom India PVT Ltd., a 100 percent subsidiary of ZTE Corporation, a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, today announced the appointment of Xu Dejun as its CEO for its India operations.
