Even though Apple’s smart watch plans have yet to be confirmed, rival Samsung has gone on record saying it has an answer in the works for the Cupertino’s rumored device.

Lee Young Hee, executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile business, told Bloomberg that Samsung has been preparing a watch product for “so long.” He offered no additional details about the watch.

Apple’s heavily speculated-upon “iWatch” has been linked to a late-2013 release.

As Google Glass has considerably turned up the noise in the wearable smart tech arena, smaller companies like Pebble have been generating buzz for smart watches. Pebble’s Kickstarter-funded watch—which can control music selection on a smartphone; display texts, emails and caller ID; and tell time—shipped earlier this year.

Samsung is just coming off the recent launch of the Galaxy S4 and has announced plans to release a smartphone running the Tizen operating system this year.
