IBM has reinvigorated its mobile enterprise portfolio with the announcement of the MobileFirst suite of software and services. The computing giant also announced an expanded relationship with AT&T in order to get these new tools out to more developers.

IBM has revamped its Worklight platform, simplifying deployment, creating single sign-on capabilities and adding a beta of the new Rational Test Workbench for mobile app testing. IBM’s security options within the suite have expanded mobile access control solutions and vulnerability testing for iOS with an updated AppScan.

IBM’s mobile device management has also been beefed up with raised security standards for its Endpoint Manager, addressing the issues of BYOD, and its Tealeaf CX provides a more user-friendly platform for mobile analytics.

The revised deal with AT&T will leverage Worklight in order to give developers access to AT&T’s APIs in the cloud.

IBM is also offering strategy and design services, like a Mobile Maturity Model, built to track an enterprise’s progress in transitioning to mobile, and development and integration services, like Enhanced Mobile Infrastructure to help strategize and optimize with IT departments.

Many of the acquisitions IBM has made in the last few years, like Worklight and Tealeaf, are factoring heavily into the company’s newest push toward services and solutions for the mobile enterprise.
