Radisys is partnering with Mavenir Systems on Voice over LTE (VoLTE) deployments based on Mavenir’s mOne Convergence Platform integrated with Radisys’ Software Media Resource Function (MRF). The companies says these can both also be deployed in virtualized cloud environments, providing scalability as operators grow their VoLTE subscriber base. Radisys and Mavenir have secured a growing list of VoLTE wins in both the U.S. and Europe, and are actively engaged in multiple trials in both regions. Operators are expected to go live with the joint VoLTE solution in the second half of 2013.

LG Electronics says it sold an Optimus L Series device every second over the past two months, propelling sales of the popular smartphones to over 15 million units. LG says it will build on this momentum with the unveiling of a new generation of the L series at MWC 2013 with an upgraded design and improved features.

Tata Communications has unveiled details of its 18-month intensive trial to deliver one of the industry’s first complete LTE Roaming Services to Mobile Network Operators. Available today, the LTE Roaming Service is designed to eliminate the interconnection and interworking complexities of global LTE roaming. The experience gained from the trial resulted in a managed service that simplifies global roaming complexity, offering a single interconnect point and facilitating protocol interworking across multiple mobile operators.
