InterDigital, Inc. and Sony Corporation of America today announced the launch of a joint venture to combine Sony’s consumer electronics experience with InterDigital’s wireless machine-to-machine and bandwidth management research. The joint venture, called Convida Wireless, will focus on driving new research in the field of M2M wireless communications and other connectivity areas.

Masimo makes its debut at CES in Las Vegas next week with iSpO2, the pulse oximeter cable and sensor utilizing Masimo SET technology for use with iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with 30-pin connector.

Frontier Communications, a communications provider focused on rural America, announced today it has entered into an agreement with TRG Customer Solutions to offer three Frontier Secure products: comprehensive computer security; cloud-based unlimited backup and sharing; and proactive identity protection.

T-Mobile and RIM today introduced the BlackBerry Curve 9315, T-Mobile’s most affordable BlackBerry. With the BlackBerry 7.1 operating system, a 3.2 megapixel camera and $49.99 out-of-pocket down payment and 20 equal monthly payments of $10 per month.
