Webtech Wireless Inc., a provider of vehicle fleet location-based services (LBS) and telematics technology, announced it closed the sale of NextBus division to Cubic Transportation Systems, Inc., a division of Cubic Corporation, for total cash proceeds of $20.7 million.
Pervasip Corp., a provider of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) mobile telephone services, today announced that Global Wholesale Telecom Services has signed a contact to market Pervasip's mobile calling app. GWTS is a Tier-1 voice and data network solutions sales and marketing agency.
Celcite Management Solutions, a provider of Automatic Intelligent Correlation (AIC) engine and Self Optimizing Network (SON) software for wireless networks, announced that Iusacell, a network operator in Mexico, is now using Celcite’s COPS enterprise platform to optimize its 2G and 3G networks and to maximize the quality and capacity of its voice and data service.
Analyst firm Juniper Research estimates the number of smartphone shipments exceeded 200 million in Q4 2012, with the annual total reaching 671 million, representing a growth of almost 42 percent year over year. Samsung continued its growth over the year shipping 63 million smartphones and accounting for more than 30 percent of all smartphone shipments in the quarter.
