Apple today announced the Wi-Fi versions of iPad mini and fourth generation iPad with will be available in China on Friday, December 7, and iPhone 5 will be available on Friday, December 14. The iPad mini and the new fourth generation iPad are currently available in 42 countries, and iPhone 5 is available in 47 countries, including the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the UK.
Sprint today announced that Softbank and Sprint have extended the deadline for filing the Registration Statement on form S-4 from Nov. 29, 2012 until Dec. 21, 2012. The proxy statement that will be included in the statement will only be sent to Sprint shareholders after the SEC has declared the Registration statement effective. The proxy statement will be sent to Sprint shareholders in connection with the special shareholders meeting to approve the agreement and plan of merger, dated as of Oct. 15, 2012.
Personal Communications Devices earlier this week announced the launch of the iDEN Migration portal. The new portal serves as a single site to purchase data transport hardware. Previously, Sprint's iDEN customers could only acquire the hardware of different manufacturers through multiple independent distributors or directly from the OEM's themselves. Initially, the new portal will offer products to meet a range of customer requirements including black box integration and sensor based (serial and digital I/O) requirements. PCD will operate the portal and control an inventory that will include Digi Transport WR21s (compact enterprise class cellular routers), and Multi-Tech MultiModem rCells (intelligent CDMA wireless routers).
