Sony Executive Suzuki to Head Mobile Phone Unit
TOKYO, April 4 (Kyodo) — Sony Corp. said Wednesday Executive Vice President Kunimasa Suzuki will become the new president and CEO of Sony Mobile Communications AB, formerly Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB.
Suzuki will head the London-based Sony Mobile Communications from May 16, succeeding Bert Nordberg, who will become chairman, the mobile phone unit said. Suzuki will concurrently serve his position at Sony.
Sony set up the mobile phone unit jointly with Ericsson, but the Japanese electronics company made it a wholly owned subsidiary by acquiring the 50 percent stake held by Ericsson in the venture in February.
