Samsung Introduces Galaxy Tab 2
Samsung today introduced its first new tablet of 2012, the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 2. Available in 3G and Wi-Fi versions, the Galaxy Tab 2 will launch first in the U.K. and hit the global market in March.
The Tab 2 is Samsung's first tablet to come running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The new slate features a 1 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, a 1024 x 600 LCD touchscreen, a 3-megapixel rear fixed-focused camera, a front-facing camera for video calling and Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and support for HSPA+ 21 Mbps.
The Tab 2 is also the first of Samsung's mobile devices to include AllShare Play, the company's new content-sharing service. AllShare Play allows users to play or live-stream their multimedia content on the Tab 2 from PCs, other Samsung smart devices as well as third-party cloud storage. Users can also transfer content to other devices or directly to web services.
