T-Mobile USA yesterday announced that it has doubled the speed of its HSPA+ network in 11 additional markets. In addition, the carrier also expanded the reach of its nationwide HSPA+ 21 Mbps network to nine additional markets, now covering 208 markets across the country and reaching more than 200 million people. 

T-Mobile expanded its HPSA+ 42 Mbps service to Bend, Medford and Corvallis, Ore.; Benton Harbor, Mich.; Bloomington, Champaign–Urbana and Springfield, Ill.; Columbus, Ga.; Hagerstown, Md.; Montgomery, Ala.; and Yuba City, Calif.

The carrier also expanded its HSPA+ 21 Mbps service to Corvallis, Ore.; Decatur and Peoria, Ill.; Evansville, Ind.; Holland and Kalamazoo, Mich.; Santa Barbara, Calif.; State College, Pa.; and Yuba City, Calif.

T-Mobile currently offers a portfolio of more than 25 HSPA+ devices. However, only the Samsung Galaxy S II and HTC Amaze 4G are able to take advantage of the company's 42 Mbps service.

The company says its 42 Mbps service reaches average download speeds of almost 8 Mbps and peak speeds around 20 Mbps.
