Apple has expanded its patent dispute with Samsung by taking the fight to South Korea. According to a Bloomberg report, Apple filed a suit with the Seoul Central District Court on June 22. The details of Apple's latest filing were not available.

Apple's tit-for-tat battle with Samsung began back in April, when Apple filed a patent infringement case against Samsung, saying the South Korean OEM had blatantly stolen core design and UI traits of the popular iPhone and employed them in its line of Galaxy S devices.

More specifically, Apple's suit targets seven patents related to the way the Galaxy S handles touchscreen gestures and commands.  

Samsung responded just three days after Apple filed its complaint in April with a suit of its own, claiming Apple had infringed on Samsung patents that cover power reduction during the transmission of mobile data; technology for reducing errors in data sent over a 3G network; and more general technology covering how data is sent over wireless networks.

Samsung was recently denied an attempt in the U.S. to subpoena prototypes of Apple's next-generation iPhone and iPad.
