Research In Motion (RIM) is making available its BlackBerry Tablet OS SDK for Adobe AIR. The new SDK enables developers to create AIR applications for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet using Adobe's development tools.

Adobe AIR developers can start building their applications today for BlackBerry PlayBook and will be able to start submitting their AIR applications for BlackBerry PlayBook to BlackBerry App World by the end of this year.

On Friday, RIM’s new BlackBerry App World storefront went live. The latest update to the storefront allows more ways to download apps from BlackBerry App World.

BlackBerry users can now purchase apps directly from the storefront, as well as edit their My World accounts to sync app downloads directly to the BlackBerry smartphone. Users also can read and write reviews and recommend items to their peers. In addition, apps can be accessed from a computer via the My World page in the BlackBerry App World storefront.
