Five MichBio members were among those recognized during the Michigan 50 Companies to Watch for 2010 presentation in Lansing last night. MichBio (http://www.michbio.org/) is the association for Michigan's biosciences industry.

Other biosciences companies honored included Integrated Nonclinical Development Solutions, a drug development support firm in Ann Arbor, and Versus Technology Inc., in Traverse City, that designs real-time locating systems for healthcare delivery use.
"Our members and Michigan's biosciences industry made a strong showing last night," said Stephen Rapundalo, PhD, president and CEO of MichBio. "They really demonstrate the breadth of bio-services available in our state, and the potential the industry holds for future growth and leadership in our economy."
Michigan 50 Companies to Watch is presented by Michigan Celebrates Small Business and its founding organizations: the Michigan Economic Development Corp., the Small Business Association of Michigan, the Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center, the Small Business Administration and the Edward Lowe Foundation. The program honors Michigan-based second-stage companies that demonstrate high performance in the marketplace or exhibit innovative products or processes.
Nominees are judged on factors including exceptional entrepreneurial leadership, competitive advantage, and demonstrable growth in sales and employee base.
