Just ahead of the 4G World conference in Chicago this week, LTE systems startup AirHop Communications came out of stealth mode today with a $1 million investment and the addition of several wireless industry players to its team.
"We are now poised to extend our lead in solving the challenges of deploying 4G networks with self-organized networking (SON), inter-cell coordination, real-time provisioning and efficient frequency reuse," said Yan Hui, founder and CEO of AirHop, in a press release.
The company did not reveal the names of its investors, but it did name new members of its management team. Joining AirHop as COO is Garrett Choi. Jerry Hall is vice president of marketing and Anand Parikh is vice president of business development.
Stephen Diamond also joined as chairman of the board and Adrian Nemcek joined as a new board member. John McDonough also is a board observer and advisor to the San Diego-based startup.
