RadioShack Corporation and T-Mobile USA announced a retail agreement to offer T-Mobile products and services in more than 4,000 RadioShack stores across the United States and Puerto Rico beginning later this summer.
The announcement comes as T-Mobile looks to the retail launch of its new Android device, the myTouch 3G from HTC. The 3G is currently available for pre-order to existing customers and will launch in retail locations, presumably including RadioShack, on Aug. 5.
RadioShack has done well for itself with its pre- and postpaid offerings as of late. The electronics retailer is currently an authorized reseller of Sprint, AT&T and Alltel Wireless phones and plans.
RadioShack saw a boost in first-quarter earnings due in part to it wireless division, as well as customers buying digital converter boxes ahead of the federally mandated switch to a digital broadcast signal.
