MetroPCS added 249,000 subscribers in the third quarter of this year, bringing its total to 4.8 million, the no-contract carrier announced today.

MetroPCS does not announce its actual earnings results until November. Its second-quarter results were lukewarm.

The company also said today that it signed a 6-year license to use Amdocs’ billing, operational support systems and customer service products.
