• Communications Test Design announced the acquisition of Phoenix Wireless for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition will help Phoenix to expand its product and service offerings through CTDI’s engineering and distribution expertise.
• Bluesocket said its BlueSecure 6.4 wireless LAN products are now available. Key new features include enhanced client scanning, Ortronics Wi-Jack Duo Access Point support and centralized guest management services.
• ExteNet Systems has named John Kelley director of network implementation and engineering. Kelley has more than 30 years of telecommunications industry experience, including executive and management roles with AT&T and Verizon. ExteNet Systems designs, builds and operates distributed antenna system (DAS) networks.
• Seattle-based WhitePages has promoted Kevin Nakao to vice president of monetization and mobile. Nakao will lead the team responsible for developing monetization strategies and programs, manage ad product development and distribution partner implementations and oversee and develop the company’s mobile initiatives. He will report directly to president and COO Max Bardon.
• Wireless Connections, a large WiMAX integrator based in Norwalk, Ohio, is now distributing Aperto’s line of PacketMAX base stations and subscriber units in the United States. Wireless Connections, a division of Advanced Computer Connections, provides broadband wireless communications solutions and services for markets including education, businesses, utilities, telephone companies and government agencies
• Altman Vilandrie & Company (AV&Co.), a strategy consulting firm, has hired Michael Grossi to serve as a director. Grossi brings 17 years of experience in wireless, telecommunications, technology and media to AV&Co., where he will focus on areas including wireless and digital media.
• Mobile marketing firm 2ergo has appointed two new staff members to its team. Adrian Smith and Colin McCaffery have been appointed to head of business development and head of products and marketing, respectively. Stuart Williams has been promoted to business solutions sales manager.
• SpinVox has named Dominick Tolli to senior vice president of marketing for North America. Tolli joins the organization after leading mobile data and service delivery efforts at Virgin Mobile.
