Anritsu announced HSPA Evolution software for the MD8480C signaling tester and MT8820B/MT8815B radio communications analyzers, following the launch of HSDPA testers earlier this year.

HSPA Evolution, in the GSM protocol family, is expected to enter commercial networks by next year.  It emphasizes IP communications and the use of MIMO antennas to achieve high speeds.

The MX848001C-12 software supports packet connection testing for continuous packet connectivity, which is new to 3GPP Release 7, officials said.  Meanwhile the MX882000C-031 software supports HSPA Evolution radio characteristics such as receiving and transmitting at 21 Mbps and call processing in test loop modes.

The company also has high-speed network testers for LTE and WiMAX systems.
