Cingular, Gwen Stefani Send Video Postcard
By Susan Rush
WirelessWeek - June 03, 2005

Music artist Gwen Stefani has signed on to deliver her first wireless ringtone through Cingular Wireless. The carrier and the singer also worked to develop a Video Postcard for her fans.

Stefani's ringtones will be made available through Cingular's Cingular Sounds offering. The deal involves four exclusive ringtones that will only be available to Cingular customers, including "Hollaback Girl (I Ain't No)," "Rich Girl (Hook)," "Hollaback Girl (Bananas)" and "What Are You Waiting For (Hook)."

In addition to the ringtones, Stefani and Cingular developed a Video Postcard of "Hollaback Girl" that can be seen on Cingular's Website. Customers also can forward the postcard to a friend's e-mail address. The postcard, however, is not available for download to the handset.

Cingular debuted its Cingular Sounds service in April with the introduction of Coldplay's new single "Speed of Sound."

Cingular Sounds ringtones are available for download at $2.49 each.
