With its business customers in mind, Cincinnati Bell has rolled out a new
array of wireless services and devices.
To deliver a behind-the-firewall solution to its business customers,
Cincinnati Bell has introduced JP Mobile's SureWave Enterprise Server. The
company is offering its Mobile Office in conjunction with the SureWave
Enterprise Server to enable the delivery of a host of services, including voice
tools, Internet/Intranet access, personal information management (PIM), e-mail
and other customized services.
Among the devices Cincinnati Bell is introducing is the Treo 600 smartphone
from palmOne, the Nokia 3600 from Nokia and the BlackBerry 7210 from Research In
Motion.
Depending on the level of service, space and device selected, Cincinnati
Bell's Mobile Office Bundle ranges from $39.99 a month to $49.99 a month.
Last week, Cincinnati Bell reached an agreement with Cingular Wireless
regarding its joint-venture agreement with AT&T Wireless. Under the existing
agreement, AT&T Wireless agreed not to compete in Cincinnati Bell markets.
The new deal dissolves the non-compete clause, enabling Cingular to continue to
compete with Cincinnati Bell in southwestern Ohio, northern Kentucky and
southern Indiana after the merger. For its part in the deal, Cincinnati Bell
will be privy to reduced roaming rates from Cingular Wireless. The deal is
contingent on Cingular closing its merger agreement with AT&T Wireless,
which is expected to happen before year's end.
