• Mobile ad agency AdMob announced it has partnered with online advertising technology firm Unicast to power mobile Web pages through the Unicast Rich Media Mobile platform for its advertising customers. Unicast and AdMob have collaborated on more than 10 rich media mobile ad campaigns to date, creating executions for major brands including Land Rover, SCJohnson and Adidas.
• Nokia announced it has opened a satellite design studio in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Based at the Design School of UniverCidade, the new studio will bring together Nokia designers, students and established local designers to explore new trends and ideas that will influence products for the Latin American and global markets. This is the second satellite studio Nokia has established, the first was opened in Bangalore, India, last year.
• Cambridge Consultants announced that it has secured a multi-million dollar contract to design and develop a VoIP wireless handset xG Technology. Cambridge Consultants said the handset is capable of wide area operation enabled by xG’s proprietary technology. Under this latest contract, Cambridge Consultants will provide a turnkey development—including industrial, electronic and mechanical design and user interface software—for the TX60 handset on behalf of xG Technology, a developer of wireless communications technologies.
