Ericsson and Napster have launched the Napster Mobile music service in Italy with Telecom Italia. Co-developed by Ericsson and Napster for the Italian market, Napster Mobile offers an array of features and personalized content, including ringtones, artist images, wallpaper and access to Napster Mobile's music catalog. Under the agreement, Ericsson's responsibilities include systems integration, operation, maintenance and content management of Napster Mobile for TIM.

SkyCross, a global wireless company providing antenna-centric radio-frequency (RF) solutions, has unveiled Isolated Mode Antenna Technology (iMAT), a new single-antenna approach, which it claims provides benefits for device designers and manufacturers, network operators and end users. iMAT promises to enable a single device antenna to perform like multiple antennas through the use of multiple feed points.

Rove Mobile, a provider of enterprise software for handhelds, has launched PCMobilizr, a new mobile technology that enables business professionals and consumers to have instant, complete access to every file and application on their home or office computers.  Rove promise that with PCMobilizr, users can remotely and securely access their PC desktop from their mobile device, display the computer's screen and control the keyboard and mouse - as if they are right in front of their computers. PCMobilizr, which supports both BlackBerry smartphones and Windows Mobile devices, is available today through a monthly subscription rate of $9.50.

Nokia has joined the WWF Climate Savers program with a pledge to build on its environmental record by improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon dioxide emissions across its business. The company is targeting a series of energy savings including halving the stand by energy used by its mobile phone chargers, using green electricity to power 50% of its facilities by 2010 and reducing the overall energy needs of its sites by 6% by 2012.

Movial has unveiled a new product, Social Communicator, an application that enables instant social communication by bringing Internet calling, social media content, unified messaging and Web and video feeds together for content sharing and real-time communication on mobile handsets, PCs, IP set-top boxes and Internet tablet devices. Social Communicator automatically determines the best way to share content, regardless of a user's device or online/offline status, and frees users from the complexities of figuring out how to reach a contact for instantaneous communication.

• MocoSpace, a mobile community, has announced the completion of its series B financing led by General Catalyst, securing $4 million in additional funds. All of the original investors, which include Bob Pittman's Pilot Group and former eBay executive, Michael Dearing, participated in the round as well. MocoSpace also announced that it has more than 2 million members and generates 1 billion page views a month.

Tecore has launched its iCore MVNO gateway, an integrated service platform specifically designed for MVNOs and MVNEs. The gateway features a fully integrated core platform including gateway MSC and HLR (with Milenage support), an integrated IN prepaid service capability, a USSD callback server to enable an IN alternative for MVNO control of call processing for roaming subscribers and multi-IMSI support, facilitating multiple IMSI profiles that allow the identity of the mobile to adjust based on the serving network.

Bango's billing and digital fingerprint technologies have enabled Macmillan Publishing Solutions (MPS) to create The Global Reader - a new service that gives consumers access to books, articles, newspapers and other print content on their mobile phones. MPS worked with Bango partner Fli Digital, which developed a custom content management system, mobile-specific user-interface intended for WAP, and integrated it with Bango's identification and payment services specifically for the Global Reader mobile experience. The ability to authenticate users means consumers can assemble a library of free and paid books.   Also because some content is lengthy, the mobile site has a "bookmark" feature which allows readers to save their spots online for each of their books.

Tranzeo Wireless Technologies has received a purchase order for $4 million worth of WiMAX subscriber units. With a $4.2-million purchase order that the company received in Q4 2007, Tranzeo's WiMAX equipment has now generated $8.2 million in orders since the company introduced the product line in Q3 2007.  Tranzeo will begin shipping its 3.5GHz WiMAX subscriber units at the end of Q1 2008.

go2 Media has added the UCLA Bruins to its Mobile Content Network. Created in partnership with the UCLA Athletic Department, go2 UCLA Bruins provides sports information related to the Bruin's programs to fans' mobile phones. The site, available for free to consumers, includes features for fans to purchase tickets, get updated scores, schedules, read UCLA sports news, obtain turn-by-turn directions to stadiums, view rosters and more.

Brilliant Telecommunications, a developer of next-generation network synchronization and time solutions, has secured $6.1 million in Series B funding, bringing Brilliant's total raised capital to $13.2 million. Onset Ventures led the round with participation from Asset Management, Draper Associates, Draper Richards and other strategic investors. Series B funds will be used to expand sales efforts, support ongoing field trial and deployment activities.

Ceragon Networks Ltd., provider of high-capacity wireless backhaul solutions, reported that its revenues for Q4 2007 were $46.1 million, up 40% from $32.9 million for Q4 2006 and 3.8% from $44.5 million in the third quarter of 2007. Q4 net income was $4.4 million or $0.13 per basic share and $0.12 per diluted share compared to net loss of $8.1 million in Q4 2006, or $0.30 basic and diluted net loss per share."2007 was an excellent year in which our revenues grew 49% and our profits grew even faster," said Ira Palti, president and CEO of Ceragon.. "We believe the primary growth drivers for high-capacity wireless backhaul remain in place, and we have a large pipeline of opportunities. We are looking forward to another year of growth in 2008."

• Jack Cowper has been appointed president and COO of Rohde & Schwarz. He will report to CEO Wolfgang Schmittseifer. He also will retain the position of president of Rohde & Schwarz, Canada, which he has held since June 2007. In his new position, he will be responsible for all operational areas of Rohde & Schwarz in North America.

THQ Wireless has signed a worldwide agreement with Playboy Enterprises, to exclusively develop Playboy-branded mobile games. The multi-year Playboy agreement covers the development and publishing rights to multiple Playboy-branded, lifestyle themed, non-nude mobile games featuring bikini-clad Playmates to be released worldwide.  The first title, Playboy Games: Pool Party, is scheduled to launch in summer 2008.

AdMob has opened a new East Coast headquarters in New York City to serve growing interest in mobile advertising among New York-based agencies. The company sells mobile ads on behalf of more than 3,000 publishers, including sites such as AccuWeather, CBS and ESPN and mobile content companies such as Peperonity, ItsMy, Mocospace and Fotochatter.

Performance Technologies has announced a distributor partnership with Diamond Point International of Rochester, UK, for the company's embedded hardware and carrier-grade software. Performance Technologies brings its lines of PCI, PCI Express, CompactPCI, AdvancedMC, MicroTCA, multiprotocol servers and carrier-grade Linux products to Diamond Point's core-computing technologies.

JumpTap has named Evan Krauss as its global senior vice president of Advertising Sales & Business Development. Krauss was most recently president and CEO of Cuts, an online video editing service.  Before Cuts, Krauss spent nearly seven years at Yahoo!, where he was managing director of Monetization for the Connected Life business unit.
