Megafon will start LTE tests in Kazan in the Tatarstan region of Russia. It will happen later this year. Megafon rival, Scartel, through Yota will spend $100 million in 2010 to launch LTE in five cities. They previously launched 4G networks in Moscow and St. Petersburg using WiMAX instead of LTE.
