• Sprint yesterday announced it has amended contracts with Crown Castle to enable the delivery of next-generation networks through Sprint's Network Vision plan. The agreement affects more than 10,000 of Sprint's nationwide cell sites and establishes uniform rates for deploying all Network Vision sites rather than negotiating tower contracts on a site-by-site basis.
• InterDigital reported net income of $17.2 million, or 37 cents per diluted share, for the second quarter. Revenue was $69.9 million. Earlier this month, the company initiated a process to explore and evaluate potential strategic alternatives, including a possible sale of the company.
• Amobee has a new partnership with IPC Media, one of the U.K.'s largest consumer magazine publishers and a Time Warner company. IPC Media chose Amobee as its mobile ad server and Amobee mediation services to exclusively manage its interface with all mobile ad networks.
• iLoop Mobile announced a partnership with Lenco Mobile to deliver a comprehensive MMS turnkey solution that can be deployed worldwide. The partnership will provide brands, agencies, content publishers and other marketers a technology platform for the delivery of rich media messaging including MMS messages and video to consumers' phones in markets around the world.
• Kenneth C. Dahlberg, former chairman and CEO of Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC), has been elected to serve on Motorola Solutions' board of directors. Before retiring from SAIC as CEO in late 2009 and as chairman in June 2010, Dahlberg served as executive vice president of General Dynamics Corp., where he was responsible for its Information Systems and Technology group. Prior to that, he was president and chief operating officer of Raytheon Systems.
• Elevate announced the addition of former Sprint and Clearwire executive Peter Cannistra to its board of advisors. He was instrumental in the execution of Sprint's 4G initiatives and his work provided the basis for Google's $500 million investment in Clearwire, where he managed strategic relationships.
• NetLogic Microsystems says that ZTE Corporation has selected its digital front-end (DFE) processors for ZTE's RRU8882 remote radio unit (RRU) platform for LTE common-platform base stations.
• MapMyRUN announced a partnership with The San Francisco Marathon presented by WIPRO to launch a suite of official Web, mobile and tablet tracking applications aimed at enhancing the race day experience of participants and spectators. MapMyRUN also will serve as an official sponsor and technology partner of the race set for July 31.
