• Rhomobile announced a major update to its first-ever Development-as-a-Service platform for mobile, RhoHub, which provides hosted builds for all major smartphones: iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile. RhoHub enables developers to build iPhone and iPad apps from their Windows machines while Mac Developers can build for BlackBerry and Windows Mobile. RhoHub provides automated deployment and management of smartphone sync servers via its partnership with Heroku.
• The IMS Forum has published its Business Models for the Deployment of Applications over Broadband IP Networks Working Group document. The framework document from the Forum's Technical Working Group examines new business models and use cases for applications running over IMS, 3G and 4G networks. It also illustrates business models that can be integrated into the "all-IP" service deployments using different technologies such as service delivery platform, cloud and smart grid.
• Jumptap announced partnerships with five rich media providers: Celtra, Fluent Mobile, PointRoll, Crisp Media and Medialets.
• TE Connectivity has deployed its InterReach Fusion distributed antenna system (DAS) to provide mobile services for AT&T customers at The Broadmoor resort in Colorado Springs, Colo. The deployment at the 700-room resort includes 75 remote antenna units (RAUs) covering the main hotel buildings, golf and spa buildings, conference center and cottages areas. A base station deployed by AT&T's Antenna Solutions Group feeds the DAS, providing on-site network capacity for AT&T customers using the 850 and 1900 MHz frequency bands.
