Samsung is readying its Galaxy S lineup for use by businesses in a move that could help it snag market share from established enterprise OEM Research In Motion.
Samsung's entire line of Android-based Galaxy S smartphones are now included in the manufacturer's enterprise-ready portfolio, including the new Galaxy Tab tablet.
The company is working with developers and carriers on new services for the enterprise-ready Galaxy S devices, including interactive educational tools, support services, medical and drug reference resources, mobile application platforms and mobile device management and security.
Pete DeNagy, general manager of enterprise enablement and mobility for Samsung Mobile, said in a statement that company has received an "overwhelming response" from developers to the addition of the S and Galaxy Tab devices to Samsung's enterprise-ready lineup.
"We're extremely excited to see the potential of these devices come to their full fruition," DeNagy said.
Samsung will demonstrate its enterprise-ready Galaxy S devices at the CTIA Enterprise & Applications conference in San Francisco this week. Smartphones running Blackboard Mobile Learn, Citrix Receiver and Epocrates Rx will be on display.
