Palm has lost its user interface guru, Matias Duarte, according to a report filed by John Paczikowski at AllThingsD.
Duarte was senior director of human interface and user experience for Palm and the man behind development of Palm's WebOS UI. The company isn't saying where Duarte is headed, but Paczikowski cites anonymous sources that claim he's headed to Google.
Duarte's resignation comes just weeks after HP acquired Palm for $1.2 billion. Duarte could be a big loss, as HP has said it plans to "double-down" on WebOS and intends to use the platform in everything from tablets to printers.
Palm was not available for comment by press time.
