Apple, Nokia Patent Fight Stalled Over ITC Decision

A judge in a Delaware federal district court has put Apple and Nokia's patent fight on hold until the International Trade Commission (ITC) issues a decision on the two companies' competing claims, reports the Associated Press.

Nokia claims that Apple's iPod and iPhone violate its patents on touch screen, power and camera technologies. Apple filed a similar complaint against Nokia, saying the phone maker's handsets infringe on patents related to devices' cameras, antennas, user interface and power management systems.

Both lawsuits will be on hold until the ITC issues its decision. The ITC plans to set a target date to finish its investigation into the matter in early April but it is not clear when the investigation will officially end.

The ITC also is investigating claims that Apple's iPhone and Research In Motion's BlackBerry devices infringe on Kodak patents related to photo-viewing technology. Kodak also has filed two lawsuits against Apple over patents for image previewing and processing technology and "ask for help" functionalities.
