• AT&T has launched two new 3G USB dongles. The GPS-enabled Velocity leverages location-enabled sites like Yahoo! Maps and Bing for directions and local points of interest. The LG Turbo is compatible with AT&T's recently upgraded HSPA 7.2 network. The Turbo will be available for free after mail-in rebate and a new two-year DataConnect contract of at least $35 a month. • SouthernLINC Wireless has added several new calling plans and three new push-to-talk Motorola devices, the Brute i680, the i890 and the Clutch i465 Graphite. The carrier's Push To Talk & More plans are based on customers' phone usage: PTT and text messaging only, PTT and cellular only, and PTT, text messaging and cellular.
• Mobile advertising company Adenyo has raised $26.9 million in its latest funding round. The financing is comprised of a $17.2 million institutional round led by Genuity Capital Markets and $9.7 million in private placements. The company also appointed former Research In Motion COO Dennis Kavelman to its board of directors.
• Adobe Systems says that third-party application developers now have access to the Photoshop.com Mobile for Android 1.1 editor, allowing them to make its photo-editing and sharing capabilities a part of their applications. • Rural broadband company Norsat International says its wireless networking initiative in Malawi, Africa, with its partner Tonse Solution is now operational. The equipment was assembled weeks ahead of schedule and has passed all testing requirements. Tonse has now commenced solicitation of wireless broadband capabilities.
