• Power management company Dialog Semiconductor made almost $20 million in the fourth quarter of 2009 on a 31.4 percent increase in sales, which hit $77.6 million. The company made $32.7 million for the full year on sales of $217.6 million.
• Personalization company LiveWire Mobile has declared an annual dividend of 20 cents per share of common stock for 2010. It is the company's first-ever dividend. LiveWire CEO Matthew Stecker said the payout "reflects the significant strides the company has achieved in improving its financial stability."
• Sierra Wireless lost $2.7 million in its fourth quarter despite an 8 percent increase in sales, which hit $144 million. The company lost almost $40 million in the full year 2009 as sales fell to $526.4 million from $567.3 million in 2008.
• A planned merger between WiFiciency and wireless health and fitness company WiSpots will not happen, says WiSpots founder and CEO Kevin Flannery. "We felt it was in the best interests of WiSpots and our ability to improve the model, delivery and acceptance of our solutions to remain a separate company," said Flannery in a statement.
• Samsung Electronics has developed two new CMOS image sensors – the S5K4E2 and the S5K5CA – for the mobile phone market. The new, small form factor sensors support HD video capabilities.
