T-Mobile today made a couple of device announcements as part of the carrier's participation at Mobile World Congress. In a press release, the company said it will carry the HTC HD2 smarttphone.

The HTC HD2 runs HTC's popular Sense UI over Windows Mobile 6.5 and comes equipped with a high-resolution 4.3-inch capacitive touch display and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor by Qualcomm. The phone represents the first WinMo phone to run HTC Sense.

Additional features include GPS functionality with access to turn-by-turn navigation from TeleNav GPS Navigator, a Web browser, a pre-installed 16 GB microSD card, and an advanced 5 megapixel auto-focus camera with dual LED flash. The HTC HD2 will be available in the U.S. exclusively from T-Mobile USA this spring.

T-Mobile also announced the webConnect Rocket Laptop Stick, which will be available starting next month. The Rocket is the first HSPA+ device offered by a national U.S. wireless carrier. The Rocket is currently only available in Philadelphia, where the carrier offers HSPA+ service. However, T-Mo promises more information will be announced when the product becomes available next month.

Additionally, T-Mobile says that HSPA 7.2 is now enabled across the company's entire 3G nationwide network and is currently working to put the necessary backhaul in place to support the faster speeds.

"While other carriers are waiting to deploy LTE, T-Mobile is the only national U.S. carrier upgrading its existing 3G network to support HSPA+, which is capable of delivering download/upload speeds that are several times faster than T-Mobile's standard 3G network," the carrier said in a statement.
