Motorola has unveiled Korea's first Android 2.0 smartphone, the Motoroi. The Motoroi will be available exclusively through SK Telecom beginning in early February.

MOTOROIThe Motoroi is the country's first device with an 8 megapixel camera and 720p high-definition video recorder. The device also features a 3.7-inch, high-definition WVGA touch screen display and a capacitive touch sensor.

"Motoroi is a smartphone without compromise, delivering a wiser, richer Web and messaging experience with the most delightful touch-interface you have ever experienced...," said Sanjay Jha, co-CEO of Motorola and CEO of Motorola Mobile Devices, in a statement.

SK Telecom is one of Motorola's key international partners.

"Motoroi by Motorola will bring a paradigm shift in the domestic mobile market with outstanding Internet, multimedia features and access to the fast-growing Android Market," said Ha Sung-min, MNO president of SK Telecom, in a statement.

The devices will sell for around 900,000 won, or $800. Its cost puts the device's pricing on par with that of the iPhone, which also sells for 900,000 won in the South Korea market.
