Dell finally made its entrance into the smartphone market official, naming China Mobile and Claro in Brazil as the first two mobile operators to sell the Dell Mini 3 smartphone.

Dell Mini 3The phone was officially outed in August, but this is the first mention of carrier partners from Dell. Dell has an existing relationship with China Mobile. Earlier this year, Dell embedded China Mobile's 3G technology and services into its netbooks.

The initial Mini 3 smartphones are designed around the oPhone OS, a variation on the Android platform, which the company said offers flexibility and customization opportunities for both users and carriers.

The company said details of phone models will be announced on a partner-by-partner basis when devices are available in stores, anticipated in late November for China Mobile and year's end for Claro.

In early October, TechPulse 360 reported that Dell CEO and founder Michael Dell had confirmed an Android smartphone for the United States in the near future.
