Verizon Wireless and Best Buy have slashed prices on netbooks, MiFi devices and smartphones in the hopes of luring customers into stores for Black Friday.
Verizon dropped the price of its Gateway LT Netbook to $30 with rebate and two-year contract. For Black Friday only, Verizon cut the price of the MiFi 2200 personal hotspot to $50 after rebate.
In addition to the reduced pricing on the netbook and personal hotspot, Verizon is offering the HTC Ozone and the Blackberry Pearl Flip for just $10 and the LG Versa and Nokia 7705 Twist for $30. The deals are good from Friday, Nov. 27 through Monday, Nov. 30.
Best Buy is selling five Android-based phones for $99 each with a new two-year contract, including the Motorola Cliq and the Droid Eris. The big box store is also offering discounts on several devices running on Sprint’s network.
Best Buy dropped the price of the Palm Pre to just $80 for Friday, Nov. 27 and Saturday, Nov. 28. Sprint’s MiFi will be offered for free with a two-year contract on those days, and the carrier’s HTC Hero and Samsung Moment comprise two of the five Android-based smartphones being sold for $99.
For its part, AT&T is opening a 6,000 square-foot retail store in Times Square on Black Friday. The carrier is reportedly offering deals there between the hours of 8 a.m. and noon.
