An app designed for stadium venues and a M2M glucose monitoring system beat out three other finalists at CTIA’s Fund Fest competition.
Chyngle, a customizable app for large venues like stadiums, was awarded top prize by the judges. The start-up was given a complimentary exhibiting and marketing package for a 2010 CTIA event valued at more than $25,000.
“It’s been an incredible experience and I’m very honored to be given the prize,” said Todd Sullivan, founder of Chyngle. “I think that my app resonates with people."
Telcare won the People’s Choice Award with its glucose monitor for diabetics that connects to handsets using M2M technology. Telcare’s Jonathan Javitt described the experience as “humbling.” Even though the company has a sizable amount of financing and considerable expertise, Javitt said Telcare was “a startup just like any other.”
Other companies competing for top prize were ParkVu, Billing Revolution and Mjedi.
